Fifty thousand pounds! So, as politely as we could, we thanked him kindly and walked away.
And there you have it. No house, just house hunting. About to get on a plane to England. And instead of spending the time buying furniture and thinking about curtain fabric, we'll be doing a mad dash around other people's houses, wondering whether one of them could be ours.
Fingers crossed.

Boooo! A house by the sea is my dream. I am sure you will find a better more beautiful one this time. Good luck with the search.
ReplyDeleteI hate our house buying/selling system. At least you will be in a very strong position to buy somewhere quickly. I'm sure you will find somewhere you love even more. There are lots of houses out there after all!
ReplyDeleteAnd they say house buying is up there with the most stressful things ..
ReplyDeleteWhat a mean man but I'm sure you'll find something better, these things happen for a reason. Good luck!
Oh no so sorry to hear this, what a nasty pasty. Good look with finding a new (and better!) potential home!
ReplyDeleteThat's awful!
ReplyDeleteThere are always plenty for sale down our end.

What a complete and utter ****@~# of a person. But perhaps it wasn't meant to be and you'll find something even more wonderful. Don't forget our little corner of Ireland is still for sale!!
ReplyDeleteOh that is such a shame. However, you will find the right house....stay positive and keep visualising!!! xx

ReplyDelete£50K? What a ***! I bet you find somewhere even lovelier and hopefully with a nicer seller this time.
ReplyDeleteOh no, how disapointing! What a joker!!And how greedy and mean. The only thing you can reassure yourself is that there would have been trouble with a seller like that somewhere down the line, so you may have saved yourself a load of time and heartache. (we had two years of being messed around by sellers whilst looking for this house - some people are so fickle and greedy - too many stories!)
ReplyDeleteChin up and best foot forward, you will find something even better.
Good Luck!

I wish you the best of luck house hunting. There will be a special place out there just waiting for you to make it your very own. Good luck!
